Clinnova publishes its 2025 Annual Report
A first full operational year across four countries: 25+ partner institutions, 185+ participants recruited, and more than 10,000 biospecimens collected under harmonized protocols.
The Clinnova European Consortium has published its Annual Report 2025, marking its first full operational year across Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany and France.
The report shows how Clinnova is moving from a European collaboration to an operational precision-medicine infrastructure. Across more than 25 partner institutions, shared protocols are now supporting research in Multiple Sclerosis, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Rheumatoid Diseases with more than 185 participants recruited and over 10,000 biospecimens collected and stored under harmonized procedures.
At the core of this work is Clinnova’s federated data infrastructure. Structured clinical data is captured at the point of care through openEHR and remains within the institution that collected it. Researchers can query and analyse data across participating institutions, while machine-learning models can be trained collaboratively without pooling patient-level data in a single location.
The Annual Report also looks beyond infrastructure and numbers to the people making Clinnova work in practice. Study nurses, data managers and patient partners across the consortium are helping turn common standards and technologies into a functioning cross-border research environment.
Together, these advances provide the foundation for Clinnova’s wider ambition: enabling high-quality health data to be used securely and interoperably across borders to advance precision medicine in Europe.
